Allspice gets its name because it seemingly combines the flavours of cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Although particularly associated with Carribean cuisine, it is widely used throughout cooking in marinades, meat rubs, jerked meats, Middle Eastern stews, pickling and sweet meats including plum and fruit puddings. It also gives an interesting twist to mulled wine.
We select ours for freshness, quality of drying process and size.
